  Caramel Apple Walnut Pudding


Contestant: Marilyn Rush
Serves: 8

Ingredients:

¼ cup butter or margarine melted and cooled
2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
5 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup brown sugar, packed
¾ cup dark corn syrup
½ cup broken walnut chunks
whipped topping

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a greased 8-inch square or round baking dish, place apple slices in dish to cover bottom. In a bowl, mix eggs, brown sugar, melted butter, and corn syrup. Pour this over the apples. Sprinkle walnuts over top. Bake until set and knife inserted in middle comes out clean, about 50 minutes. Serve with a dollop of whipped topping.
